Chapter 5: Circulation

Building Approach: it is the path to destination. It can be frontal, oblique and spiral.

The path to this building is a frontal approach escalating to the target entry. My analysis examines the path and the effort taken to get to the target entry. The entry is elevated intensely to elevate the significance of the target

Building Entrances: it is what separates interiors from exteriors; it is the door that opens to another space. It is the plane that defines spaces. This pair of pavilions by Dutch studio Hansteerds Architectuur mark the entrance to a cemetery in the city of Blankenberge, Belgium.

Entrances are not always elements that close. In this case, the entrance is articulated by vertical elements that introduce to a different space. My diagram emphasizes on the verticals that separates to horizontal planes

Configuration of the Path: The order of paths. This picture shows network configuration. The circulation of this spaces consists of lines to overlaps and interlock establishing points where they connect. This diagram shows the overlapping network circulation and celebrating the result focal points that happen at the intersections of the lines.

Path-Space Relationships: It is how space relates to the path. The circulation path might pass by space, pass through it or terminate in it. This picture shows a pass by circulation path. In this case, the each space pertain its shape as well as the path.

Form of the Circulation Space: spaces within spaces. These are types of the circulation with different functions. These are corridors, Halls, Galleries, Stairways and rooms.
