Form and Space: One cannot exist without the other, there should be a space to have a form, and there should be a form to define the space. It is the foreground and background relationship.





Defining Space With Horizontal Elements:
Elevated Planes:
A horizontal plane projected from the ground reinforcing the edges of the plane. Here a big importance is giving to the bathtub by elevating it two steps from the ground

Defining Space with Vertical Linear Elements:
Single Vertical Plane





Vertical linear elements define the perpendicular edges of a volume of space. Here the minarets define the edges of the Holly mosque.







Qualities of Architectural Space:






Degree of Closure: The degree of closure refers to the amount of opening allowed in a space. This space punched interesting little teasing openings while pertaining the whole closure concept.

Openings in Space-Defining Elements:

Within Planes: Openings in the spaces can be articulated through various ways. Here the opining are articulated in the wall plane and in the overhead plane.
